Panorama

My first panorama that I stitched together on the computer! It's of Agawa Bay area on Lake Superior - our campsite view over Memorial Day weekend! As with all the pictures, you can usually click on it to make it bigger.

Canada, Eh?

After seeing a very event-filled X-men 3 (stay through the credits!) and watching every possible MSHP event or program that I possibly had, we had our fill of blueberry pancakes and stacked everyone into my car to head for Canada - Stephanie, Jenny, Maria and I.

We stopped at the A&P - because it's wonderful and we're all fresh obsessed. We ate lunch at Chippewa Falls and then headed to Agawa Bay Campground, ready for food, seeing animals and some hikes. It was pretty buggy. They didn't see to bother Maria and I so much, but they really were all over Stephanie and Jenny. We ate our hobo dinners (amazing) and drank our beer (German and Belgium...no Canadian!).

We left at dusk to try to find any wildlife. Stephanie and I had not seen any animals last fall, and we really wanted to see a moose or something! We looked forever for the bald eagles' nest, but didn't see anything. BUT going to Trapper's Trail, we saw a black bear! Yep, just rambling down the ditch by the road. After recouping from our amazement, we got to the trailhead, but we only made it about 200 feet or so. THe bugs were horrible. So we sat in the car and watched the beaver dam and saw a beaver swimming around there, too! Sorry, no pictures of either...we tried.

We went back and roasted marshmallows, laid on the beach and looked at stars, satellites and constellations. Pretty amazing night. I couldn't sleep (surprise, surprise...the normal occurrence for me) and so went to the car, then just laid out on the beach, which was the most comfortable in the end. We started to get ready and then it started raining. Just drizzling at first, then pouring. We easily amused ourselves with a catch-the-rain-in-the-spoon game, but it really came down and we headed for the visitor's center. It didn't let up so we decided to ditch the hikes, go to the mall back in the Soo and get home early. Still fun, all in all!
