Halloween

-Stephanie and I (as Bavarian Pretzel Wenches) extremely excited about three Abe Lincolns we bumped into at the Gatehouse.

-TEN! Yes, ten Abraham Lincolns. When the three said that there were actually ten of them all together, oh, were we ever excited! Imagine if there was a group of founding fathers, too!

-Lee as Jack from the Nightmare before Christmas. Very fabulous, to say the least.

-Jack and Sally. Who knew the Nightmare Before Christmas would be so popular!

-Team Zissou from Life Aquatic.

-Lupita and the rest of the gang from Mexico were there - hanging out and dancing up a storm!

-And we found Bertram again!

-Heather, the disco rocker.

-Our shoes as Bavarian Pretzel Wenches. We dropped pretzels everywhere.

-Hot Carl as Hooters.

-The band members at the bar.

-Carolyn (Snow White) and Peggy (Flapper).

-Carolyn, Peggy, me, Stephanie and Lee (with the mask).

-The Tea Bag Band at Horn's dressed as Gillian's Island people!

-Fun guy dancing at Horn's.

-Carolyn, Stephanie, Peggy and Lee dancing at Horn's.

Flint

Some of the picture highlights from Flint (MMA Conference):

-Downtown Flint tour - theatre. Many new and exciting things happening downtown. Lofts, renovation, the Land Band, Ruth Mott Foundation. Very exciting.

-The friendly frog at the Mott house, with a bunch of museum people!

-A bedroom from the wonderfully redone Whaley House.

-A tapestry from the Whaley House. This tapestry was done by Mrs. Dort, who was the daughter of Rosa Truscott Webb, who lived on the island and married Charles Webb an officer at the fort. Everything is connected to Mackinac.

-The Mott House and grounds.

-Phil in the M18 tank at the Buick Gallery.

-Me in the tank. Really, you would have thought that more people would have climbed around on it like we all did!

-The 1920s roadster (30s?) that they revved up for us...

Winter Came Early

On Thursday we had a huge winter storm that dumped over a foot of snow on Cheboygan (less in Mac City). Many were upset that we had snow so early, livid really. Actually, I thought it was pretty (thanks for supporting me on that Bruce and Stephanie! And with much enthusiasm!). Julie even made us little snowmen outside on the railings at the office. One snowman for each window.

-My house.

-The back yard.

-The storm coming in...

-Dennis' deck roof that caved in with the snow.

-After it was all done, my pond - which used to be surrounded by cattails, but they are all covered and matted down by the heavy snow.

-And we even had hail, mixed with the snow, rain, sleet...even saw some sun!

-What the area looked like (this is Wildwood) just 5 days before!

Grand Party

-Before the Grand party we took a little walk around...Grapes at the Biddle House with Stephanie.

-And Patrick.

-The Post Cemetery.

-Stephanie rustling through the leaves.

-At dinner at the Grand. I'm trying to hide the food in my mouth.

-Val and her purple sweet potato soup.

-We took a lot of pictures of food. My filet mingon.

-The crab-herb encrusted whitefish.

-Stephanie and her lamb chops.

-Phil, Liz and Val.

-Raspberry Bread Pudding with Cream

-And on to the Teddy Roosevelt Lodge room that Brian was giving tours of...notice the horn chair and elephant foot bin.

-The man himself. Quite the Teddy-esque room!

-One of the last "tours" of the night.
