Canada One Day Trip

Pictures from Chippewa Falls and Lake Superior Provincial Park, Ontario from August 22, 2005 - with Stephanie and Peggy. We were "fresh obsessed" at the A&P in Soo, Canada. We also got our passports stamped coming back to the US, authorized by a very bemused border patrolman.

Stay tuned for the next adventure in a week! Same place, new time and more time! That's right, we're camping!

-Pictographs at Lake Superior Provincial Park. Drawn over the last several centuries. Recorded in the 1800s by our friend, Henry Schoolcraft.

-Lake Superior at Alcona Bay.

-Peggy and I at Chippewa Falls.

Seattle and Vancouver

And because I like Gordon and Marni...

-Top o' Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, Gordon and I. Still snow in April, great gondola ride up!

-Falls in the Lynn Valley, Vancouver.

-Me at the UBC Anthropology Museum, Vancouver. LOTS of totems!

Ireland

Decided what I can do with this posting and that's to post pictures.

Just because I like Ireland (and they're digital), this is from the trip in 2003...

-Castle of Trim, northwest of Dublin, at the outer city wall. It's where they filmed a good number of scenes from Braveheart.

-Caskey and Kevyn on the bike ride around Dingle peninsula, near the Blasket Islands. This was while we still had energy. Next parish over is Boston.

-Sandy and I in some field in County Mayo.

-Cliffs of Moher.

-Caskey, Kevyn and I in a Dublin pub with the Guiness turtle behind!

-Kylemore Abbey, Co. Mayo.

-Impromptu "band" at the Lighthouse Pub in Howth (north of Dublin). Notice the banjo.

Hus av Turtle

- Lee May, me and Stephanie at the Grand. Had to get Lee in there somewhere!

Hus av Turtle means "home of turtle." The only slightly creative name I could think of that wasn't taken. Hus av is Swedish for "home of." I thought of Polish, German and others, but since my name is Swedish, why not?

Just trying this out right now and we'll see what I put on it! So until then, happy 1st of September (and play the song in your head or on the fife)!
