A Bit More Snow

-But first a little Irvin. Just for Beth. He's strange, just like her.
-The catcus is still bloomin'.
-And it's snowed. Real snow, not that menial stuff from before. And it's going to continue. Which means...
...I can wear my trusty beloved snow claw boots. The best boots ever. Good for snowshoeing, great for walking (where the snow claws come in) and when you put your feet in them, they actually get warmer. I think they're rated to -40 or something. They're huge, they're warm and wonderful. End boot session.

-And Sheryl and I put up the lights around our office (I'm very strict about the nothing-up-until-St.Nicholas Day-and-after thing...). Oh, and there's the hawk and owl, too.

Snow and Knitting - it so goes together

Huzzah! It snowed. Well, not that much, but once it starts...
















I did try biking. Got to Point Nipigon, but it was hard on the snow. Although snow means shorter days, no biking and hiking and a lot more time shoveling (my winter cardio)...






...it DOES mean sweaters, skiing and showshoeing, cozy evenings with knitting and finally doing indoor things I don't do in the summer. Here's some of the latest knitting projects (I can not keep up with M. on all the quilting/sewing craftiness she does!):

Mackinac Bridge Turns 50

The Mighty Mackinac Bridge turned 50 this November 1st. Jeff, Brian, Dave and I went over for the festivities (mostly politicians talking, a lot of plaques and cake). We also got I-crossed-the-bridge-50-years-after-it-was-built cards when we crossed over. Not great pics, since I only had my phone...

Part IV - Back to Michigan and Philip's Wedding

On the way back we spent the night in Niagara Falls, which is super inexpensive this time of year.

Part III - Cape Cod

We made it to the cape...which, of course, the highlight is the kids...

-And to be totally east coast, Carol bought some crabs and a lobster to cook. These guys weren't happy and he kept crawling out of the pan before he was cooked.
