-Here's the entrance to the relatively new exhibit and HUGE entry-store-food service-classroom-office building. We stayed for a bit and saw some of the exhibit, watched the movie and all, but as it was 80 degrees outside and we had our very own personal tour guide, we wanted to go out there and see the site and ships!
-The interior of one of the houses in the Powhatan Village. Reed mats covering the exterior and a lot of room inside (I'm comparing it to the waginogan of northern Michigan, of course).
-Stephanie and one of her ships. I hope I'm getting this right, but I believe this is the Susan Constant, the largest of the ships there.
-Stephanie giving us the low down (with my mom and aunt Mary listening intently) on the ship, Godspeed.
-And this is the rigging she'll have to climb!
-From the Susan Constant, the Discovery and Godspeed.
-Jack, a coworker of Steph's, demonstrating how to create a canoe. He really got those kids to work using shells to scrape out the burned areas.
-Mom and Stephanie in front of the "new" church.
-A chicken getting water.
-A glass window of one of the higher-up's house.
Very cool site. I think it was a little hot for us Michiganders. After some shopping (for those of us up in the north regions of no stores) and buying great books at Williamsburg!
